To import an Ale:
From the File menu, click Open, or click the toolbar button.
A Windows file Open dialog appears.
Navigate to the desired drive/folder and select a file with a .ale extension.
Click Open to import the file.
The Ale is opened and displayed in an Ale window. The bottom left corner indicates the frame-rate of the Ale.

NOTE: Ale files must contain a minimum number of valid "headings" in order to successfully import into EdlMax. The required headings are:
VIDEO_FORMAT:
Project standard (NTSC, PAL, FILM, etc.).
AUDIO_FORMAT:
Audio sample rate for the clips.
FPS:
The digitized frame-rate of source clips. 29.97fps is used for NTSC video and 25fps for PAL.
TAPE:
Tape name or reel name of the clip. If no tape name is found, “AUX” will be used as the tape name. This may occur with non-tape sources such as CD tracks or image files.
NAME:
Clip name or comment. If found, clip names are changed to Edl notes.
START:
Timecode IN-point for the clip.
END:
Timecode OUT-point for the clip.
